What the tool provides

RAW Fit Check is a free diagnostic. It reports local container metadata, embedded-preview behavior, and evidence-backed compatibility claims. A result is a preflight, not a guarantee that every edit, export, camera setting, or file from a shoot will work.

Your responsibility

Keep backups and test a small representative set before changing software, deleting originals, or importing a full shoot. Do not treat the benchmark as a recommendation to buy or replace hardware.

Registry evidence

Compatibility information can become outdated as editors and operating systems change. Each built-in claim includes its source and access date. Review the evidence and contribute corrections through the public repository.

Warranty and liability

The software is provided “as is,” without warranty, under the MIT License. To the extent allowed by law, its authors are not liable for data loss, workflow interruption, purchase decisions, or other damages arising from use.
